Kimi Ga Iine Kuretara is the first single from Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's fifth album Candy Racer, released on May 10, 2019 in digital format.[1] It was composed and written by Yasutaka Nakata.

Background and Release[]

The song was first revealed on April 25, 2019 on one of Kyary's Twitter posts.[2] In the song, "Kyary sends positive messages to children lost on social media."[3] The song's theme is anxiety, loss of motivation, and loneliness, later turning into Kick Punch Punch, a video game character that battles the stress and anxiety caused by social media.[4]

The cover for the song is entirely based on the music video; on the left half of the cover being Kyary's regular face, and the right half being the bearded Kyary from the music video, depicting other people that Kyary wants to keep safe from the depression that can be caused by others online. The song also explains how much she loves her fans and that she wants them closer to her.

On November 12, 2019, Kyary posted an article on her website, revealing that a pink, 7-inch vinyl would be released on February 26, 2020.[5] It includes an exclusive instrumental of the song on the B-Side, and is currently the only physical format of the single.

In 2021, Kimi Ga Iine Kuretara was included on the tracklist of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's fifth album, Candy Racer.
