Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's Ghibli Set is a Studio Ghibli tribute compilation album by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu in 2011.

Background and release[]

She produced it with most of the tracks being electronic covers of Studio Ghibli soundtrack songs arranged by a group of other musicians, consisting of Maid Boys, Koji Tsukada, Ram Rider, and ZAKI.

The only song on the album created by Kyary herself was Way Way Mega Mix, which is also the longest song in the entire album, being 7 minutes and 20 seconds, and placed at the very end of the album. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's Ghibli Set contains remixes of songs from multiple Studio Ghibli movies, such as Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle.

In quite limited quantity, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's Ghibli Set was released in CD format, and although somewhat rare, they can still be found online.[1]

Trivia[]

  • Technically, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's Ghibli Set was the first release under Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's name to ever be pressed to CD format.
  • As rare as the CD is, the digital album can be found on Spotify and iTunes listed under 'Various artists'.[2]
  • On the album cover, Kyary is seen wearing an outfit similar to Kiki's from the movie Kiki's Delivery Service by Studio Ghibli. The song Rouge No Dengon was inspired by that movie, and appears as track six on Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's Ghibli Set.
